Work where neighbors lift neighbors
Help us honor our elders, care for neighbors with special needs, and invest in the next generation across the ARK-LA-TEX.
Why work at UNITY001
UNITY001, Inc. is a tax-exempt, faith-grounded community nonprofit headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana, with roots in Cullen and Springhill. Our motto is Unity, Care, Strength.
Our 2027 plan grows UNITY001 from a neighbor-funded effort into a partner that large companies can fund with confidence, and the people we hire now are part of making that happen.
We're a small team: the President, the program leads, the board, and the volunteers who make every event happen. Whoever joins us works closely with all of them, and with the community itself: elders, families, and first-time donors.
What to expect
- Where the work is
- Most of it can be done from home. Events are in Shreveport, Bossier City, Coushatta, and Springhill, so you'd need to live within driving distance and have reliable transportation of your own.
- How the hours run
- They flex around the event calendar: heavier in the weeks before an event, lighter in between. Expect a Saturday or an evening roughly once a month, with weekday hours otherwise flexible.
- What's reimbursed
- Mileage for event travel and approved expenses.
- Before you start
- A background check. Two adults are present at every UNITY001 youth activity.

What we look for
Respect for the faith-grounded, multigenerational community we serve, and the patience to work with elders, volunteers, and first-time donors.
Each listing spells out the experience it needs. Across every role we value clear, warm writing, because so much of this work is emails, reports, and thank-you letters that people actually read, and a steady head when a room fills up.
Ties to Shreveport, Bossier City, Coushatta, Springhill, or Cullen are always a plus. If a job sounds like you, apply, even if you don't match every line of the listing.
UNITY001 is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, and veteran status, and we make reasonable accommodations on request.
How hiring works
-
Apply
Each listing says what to send and where. Usually that's a resume and a short note about work you've done. No cover letter needed.
-
We read every one
We review applications as they arrive and reply to every applicant.
-
We talk, then we decide
If it looks like a fit, we set up a conversation about the job, with time for your questions. Either way, we let you know where things stand.
- Can I volunteer instead?
- Yes, and we'd be glad to have you. Tell us what you'd like to help with and we'll get back to you.
- I don't see a job that fits. Can I still reach out?
- Yes. Send us a note about what you do and what interests you. We can't promise a job, but we like knowing who wants to help.
- How can I tell a job offer is really from UNITY001?
- We never charge a fee to apply, and we never ask for bank or payment details as part of an application. If someone claiming to be from UNITY001 asks you for either, it isn't us. Please let us know.
